KARL WENNERGREN

Sweden B. 1991

The often moody and atmospheric works of Karl Wennergren (b. 1991, Lund, Sweden) are easily distinguishable. He explores the possibilities of representational painting as well as the craft behind it, including preparing his own canvases and grinding his own paint. His works are usually built up with several layers of paint in order to achieve the desired effects, and often take many months to complete. Drawing inspiration from a constant and careful study of nature, he investigates the human experience. Running as a common thread through his work is this fascination for the mysterious and the unknown.
